Domain Verification

Before content can be ingested, you must verify that you own the domain. This prevents unauthorized indexing and ensures data integrity.

How It Works

Start Verification

From your site detail page, click "Start Verification". The system generates a unique verification token.

Add DNS TXT Record

In your DNS provider's control panel, add a TXT record:

Host: _mcp-verification.yourdomain.com
Type: TXT
Value: mcp-verify=<your-token>

Check Verification

After DNS propagation (usually 5-30 minutes), click "Check Now". The system performs a DNS lookup and confirms the record matches.

DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours in rare cases, though most providers propagate within 5-30 minutes. You can safely retry the check as many times as needed.

Verification Statuses

Pending

Verification has been initiated; waiting for DNS record.

Verified

Domain ownership confirmed. You can now run ingestions.

Failed

DNS lookup did not find a matching record. Check your DNS settings and retry.

Once verified, proceed to Content Ingestion to start indexing your site's content.
